Overview
Manage conversation preferences in ELEV8 AI to tailor automated responses and handle situations requiring human assistance.
Accessing Conversation Settings
Go to Settings, then select Elev8 AI Conversation Settings. Click Save Settings when you're done making changes.
Deferring Conversations
The deferral feature manages situations needing human assistance.
Choose from these options:
Defer to Host (notifies the host with a message like, "The primary host will assist you once they are back online."),
Defer to Team (notifies your team with a message like, "Please let me check with my team and I'll get back to you as soon as I have an update."),
Embody Host (AI acts as the host with a message like, "Let me look into this and I'll get back to you once I have a solution."),
Share Direct Contact (provides contact information), or
Do Not Respond (silently notifies the host). Consider adjusting deferral behavior based on time of day and staff availability.
Additional Conversation Preferences
Customize ELEV8 AI with these additional preferences:
Use Use Signature to add a signature (e.g., "EVA's AI Helper") to each message.
Conversation Closing: choose On (allows conversations to close naturally), Off (ELEV8 AI always has the last word - not recommended for natural interactions).
AI Transparency: Choose Only if directly asked (acknowledges being AI when asked) or Never (acts as a human).
Message Delay sets minimum and maximum response times, influencing Response Timing, which prevents responses if you reply first.
Customize Tone lets you adjust the AI’s responses with specific instructions. Test changes in the Test Properties section.
Configurations
Select the Defaults dropdown in the top right corner of the preferences page to access and create configurations based on time of day and property.
