Overview
Learn about smart locks and access codes, and how they can simplify your life by eliminating the need for physical keys.
Understanding Smart Locks
Smart locks use technology to lock and unlock doors and other entry points without a physical key. This offers greater convenience and control over access. You can use them on doors, gates, garage doors, elevators, and lockers.
Some smart locks can also work with other devices. These may include intercoms and access control systems with video cameras and microphones. This lets you see and speak to visitors remotely.
Working with Access Codes
An access code is a numeric or alphanumeric code. Access codes give you a keyless way to unlock smart locks. The owner of the smart lock sets the access code. Entering the correct code unlocks the lock.
There are two types of access codes: permanent and temporary. Permanent codes are for homeowners or primary users. Temporary codes are for guests or service providers.
