Overview
The Reservations analytics tab provides insights into total reservations, their distribution by channel and status, average reservation value, booking window data, and average length of stay. Use these metrics to examine reservation trends, assess financial performance, and understand booking behaviors and stay durations.
Reservation Summary
View Total Reservations
To understand your reservation volume, view the total number of reservations for a selected period. Navigate to the Analytics tab and select the Reservations sub-tab. The total reservation count for the current date range appears on the main screen. Adjust the date filters, such as Quick Dates or Periods, to see reservation totals for different timeframes and monitor reservation volume over time.
Examine Channel Distribution
To identify your top booking channels, review the percentage and number of reservations from each source. On the Reservations sub-tab, a pie chart displays reservation distribution by channel. This chart shows the proportion of bookings from channels like Booking.com, Airbnb, Direct, Website, and Agoda. Use this chart to assess the performance of your booking channels.
Review Reservation Status Breakdown
To understand the current state of your reservations, review the breakdown of confirmed versus canceled bookings. The Reservations sub-tab includes a bar chart showing reservations by status, such as Confirmed Reservation and Cancelled Reservation. This chart also displays status by check-in time for different periods. Use this breakdown to assess the ratio of active to inactive bookings and identify trends in cancellations or confirmations.
Reservation Value and Timing
Assess Average Reservation Value
To understand the typical revenue generated per booking, review the average financial value of reservations. On the Reservations sub-tab, find the Average Reservation Value section. This section displays the average reservation value and includes charts showing the value for confirmed and canceled reservations. Use this to track the financial impact of different reservation types.
Segment Value
When assessing average reservation value, segment by confirmed versus canceled reservations for a clearer financial picture.
Analyze Booking Window Distribution
To understand how far in advance guests book, review the distribution of confirmed reservations by nights booked. On the Reservations sub-tab, locate the Distribution of Confirmed Reservation by Nights Booked chart. This chart illustrates the booking window, showing how many reservations fall into different categories of nights booked. Use this to identify common booking patterns and plan accordingly.
Stay Duration Analysis
Determine Average Length of Stay
To understand the typical duration of guest stays, review the average number of nights guests stay for a selected period. At the bottom of the Reservations sub-tab, find the Average Length of Stay section. This section displays the average duration of guest stays for the selected period. Use this to quickly grasp the typical stay duration.
View Stay Duration Charts
To visualize trends in guest stay durations, review the graphical representation of the average length of stay over time. The Average Length of Stay section on the Reservations sub-tab includes a chart that visually represents the average length of stay. Use this chart to identify patterns or changes in stay durations over different periods and gain insights into guest behavior regarding stay length.
